Sweet little Grace!  Our good friends Beth and Joe Englert, whose wedding we photographed in 2007, have a baby daughter and we just loved meeting her for the first time.  There are so many great photos from the session that Beth and Joe were hard-pressed to pick their favorite.  We love them all!

In addition to our Wedding photography, we’ve also been working with families and children.  This is Brandon.  And he’s such a cute kid!  He really enjoyed working with the camera, and we had a blast clowning around with him.  A big “thanks” to Brandon’s mom Stephanie, and grandmother Sylvia.

We were out to lunch at Millrose in South Barrington with fellow photographer Jay Crihfield.  These wines were for sale in their wine shop and they made me laugh out loud!  Evidently every Mommy needs a little time to herself…

I just had the pleasure of photographing a charity event to benefit children’s cancer.  It’s called St Baldrick’s and the volunteers get donations for shaving their heads.  Six guys were the willing victims for a standing-room-only crowd.  Most were pretty nervous and shaggy when they went in, then laughing and freshly shorn when they came out.  It was great fun to be involved and meet some fantastic people from the community.  Special thanks to Dennis Schultz, Janice Fitzgerald and the St Baldrick’s organization.

Burdick & Lee Photographers is participating in the National Charity Model Search to select “America’s Cutest Kid” and to raise funds for charity.

We’re looking for cute children ages 18 months to 14 years old to model for a portrait to be entered into the contest.

Models Search Special:
$49 entrance fee, which includes a 20 minute model session and one image submitted to the national gallery.

Finalists will be determined by online votes. Anyone may vote. Each vote is $1, and all proceeds from votes benefit the non-profit Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep.
Grand prize national winner will be determined from the 50 city finalists. Winners selected by photography and modeling industry experts.

If your child is selected the national winner, you’ll receive many prizes, including a $5,000 US Savings Bond and a Canon PowerShot G10 digital camera.

Marquis and Nicole

Nicole sent us this note a few days after the wedding: “Things have settled down a bit. I wanted to drop you two a quick line to thank you again. Everyone loved you both and thought you two were the best photographers they’ve ever seen at a wedding. A couple people just want you to be their friends and come to their parties, they said you two were so cool. Marquis and I want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts and we can’t wait to see the pics.”

What a fun day! We photographed the annual neighborhood block party on the 23rd block of N. Janssen in Chicago. We met our friends Paul and Kim Froning and spent the afternoon photographing the festivities, and also offered studio prizes for the raffle. We found ourselves focusing on the kids, including Eva, who was having her 6th birthday, complete with balloons and cake.

The band James Party of 4 rocked the block party til late. We had a riot. Thanks, you guys! We’ll be there again next year!

Dave is a retired United 777 Captain and is now flying for stylish international carrier Jet Airways. Linda is a Customer Service Agent for United at “the world’s busiest”, as they say. She’s a real sweetheart with a fantastic personality and everyone just loves her.

To say they’re well-travelled is an understatement! They’ve been around the world many times over y’all, and they selected little ol’ us to photograph them. (I’ve still got the accent from being in North Carolina a couple weeks ago.) How cool is that!
