We’re very fond of Demetria and Ismael! Their engagement photo session in downtown Naperville this summer was spontaneous and fun—made more so by the deafening, soaking thunderstorm that made us run for cover. We took refuge in a restaurant and waited nearly an hour for the storm to blow over. The four of us had a great time getting to know each other better.
Their wedding yesterday benefited from sunny, clear and pleasantly warm weather. We met the entire wedding party at their hotel and began with some “getting ready” shots. These are always fun and we learn a lot about the groomsmen and bridesmaids. Who’s who, to start with, but also who’s got a wicked sense of humor, who’s especially close to the happy couple, and so on.
Demetria’s Maid of Honor, Alexandra put it best in her touching toast to the new couple: “When Demetria met Ismael, I knew all was right with the world.” They are so loved by their friends and family. It was clear there are no two people who are more meant to be together.
The ceremony and reception were held at the Prairie Bluff Golf Course in Lockport. The golf course itself and the reception hall were beautiful. And despite a rather windy afternoon, we photographed the bridal party and families outside in the bright early-autumn light. Fortunately no bouquets were blown away and no hairstyles were windswept beyond repair! The photographs turned out beautifully.
