A thoroughly enjoyable day. We had become good friends with Anne Marie and Mike as they worked on the preparations for their wedding. Their sense of humor and friendliness made them very easy to work with. Having coffee at Starbucks with them one weekend was a great way to finalize the details for their day. We arrived at the Sofitel Hotel to photograph Anne Marie and Mike getting ready for the day.
These are always fun moments to capture for the wedding album. There’s a little nervousness, a lot of eagerness and flurries of last-minute activity. We got some great shots of the groomsmen getting ready with their ties and boutonnieres, then the bridal party.
Anne Marie looked picture-perfect as she added the finishing touches to her makeup. We took many detail shots of her jewelry, the dress, veil and flowers. And what flowers! Bright oranges, yellows and dark red. Perfect for a fall wedding.
The ceremony was beautiful and all of the guests seemed thrilled as Mike and Anne Marie sealed their union with a kiss. After the ceremony the wedding party boarded their limos and headed to Lighthouse Beach. Despite threatening weather earlier in the day, the weather was clear and everyone had fun walking barefoot in the sand.
Before dinner the Sofitel catering staff made a grand entrance carrying champagne bottles into the banquet room. They marched through the room like a drum corps in an elaborate march across the dancefloor and among the tables. Like clockwork, each server stopped at their appointed table and poured the champagne. Very classy.
The wedding cake was stunning and absolutely delicious. Anne Marie and Mike insisted we join them in eating cake. Never one to turn down such a tempting offer, I confess I had three whole pieces.
We’re very jealous that Anne Marie and Mike are spending their honeymoon in Italy. We know you guys will have a fantastic time. Send us some pictures!
