Reef Resort Yucatan, Tanil Hacienda
We’re having a great time, and learning so much. Next year’s workshop is in Guatemala, and in 2008 it’s in Thailand. We’ve already told Michele that she can confirm our standing reservation, once a year, for these jaunts. Both sound fantastic.
We’ve gathered a bit of a reputation at the resort– guests see us setting up shots and posing each other around the resort. So if we approach them for pictures they’re pretty receptive. After breakfast we asked one family to pose in the courtyard of the lobby. Beautiful light. We got some great photographs, especially of the father and young son. Monte even posted a couple of our photos on his website.
Finding ourselves model-less for the afternoon, we approached another couple to see if they wanted to be rock stars for the day. Bert and Cheryl had arrived the day before from Toronto. Such a nice, friendly couple, we all became fast friends. Turns out their wedding photographs had been botched and they had literally nothing to show from their wedding two years ago. Well, we fixed that. We drove to a 400-year-old Hacienda (plantation house) about an hour from the resort. Absolutely stunning location.
